Digital cameras have to function just like film cameras, but they use a sensor to record the image instead of film..
All cameras simply record the light that is reflected off the surfaces around us- and how light shapes and colors the objects around us is what we capture.
Watch this area for tips to use these tools better.
One important tip- Format your memory! Format it before using it the first time. Format it after you've backed it up and CHECKED the backup (generally a CD or DVD) before you reuse it. Why? If you don't you may have problems with corrupted images. Also, use only CD-Rs or DVD-Rs as rewriteable disks are not nearly as stable or long lasting and it is possible to accidentally write over your data (pictures).

Sign up for a digital photography class from Rush Hour Photo and learn how to control your camera- instead of the camera controlling you! Go beyond using your camera in the 'auto' mode all the time and learn why 'program' is the way to go! Classes run fall through spring- call 541-758-3204 for the schedule.
